Rapha CC Road Race

This weekend I traveled down to Essex to ride the Rapha CC Road Race. This was the first which Rapha CC had put on and is part of the Eastern Road Race League Series.

It was a hot day, and as the day progressed, it started to catch a lot of people out, as the race distance at almost 80 miles proved to be very wearing.

The coarse was fairly hard, and narrow in parts making the first couple of laps nervous however once settled in, I was not feeling to bad. With the finish on top of a climb which was just over a kilometre long, I managed to take 4th in the bunch finish, and with 7 up the road it was enough to take 11th place.

This was a fairly pleasing result considering the last couple of weeks, where due to a crash, and a puncture I have been unable to finish. It was also a good ride to get the miles in.
