Last weekend was another round of the EMRRL which was hosted by Beeston CC. The race was held in Kingston On Soar in Nottinghamshire. The race consisted of 12 laps of a predominantly flat circuit, making for a fairly fast race. Full of a strong field, it was once again myself, James Moore, and Ollie Taylor competing for Welland Valley CC.
During the first half of the race repeated attempts were made to get away, however these were unsuccessful until the last third of the race when a group of 4 managed to get away. After this the race remained unsettled with further attacks however only a group of 3 were allowed to go up the road, and attept to bridge over. This meant with 7 away the bunch were left to compete for 8th place.
I am pleased to say that I was able to take 8th place and the bunch sprint. Although not winning the race itself, it shows my finishing has improved over this year which is nice and a great sign. It is also another good result in the EMRRL for Welland Valley CC where the team are currently 2nd in the team standings.
