Last week whilst on holiday I made the climb to the top of the highest peak on the Spainish island of Menorca. El Toro also known as its Spainish name Monte Toro. Once at the top beautiful views can be seen of the island. The Mountains of Mallorca can also be seen on a clear day.
At the summit the sanctuary of the Virgen Del Torro and a Gothic Church from the 1600 can be found. There is also a statue of Christ, a gift shop and a restaurant for some refreshments.
The Climb starts in Es Mercadal, and is just over 3km long. El Torro also has an average gradient of 8.9%, a max of 18% and climbs up to 1045ft. Its a great climb to say I have done and will hopefully be back to ride up there again.
A Strava segment for the climb can be found below.
