Harry Middleton Road Race

Today was the Harry Middleton Road Race held on the Pimbo circuit in Skermersdale near Warrington. The race was 22 laps of the short circuit and was very flat and fast making it a great kermeese. The speed of the race made it very difficult for breaks to be established. However with 5 laps to go a group of 10 managed to cause a split and gain a small gap which they then kept till the end of the race. Another small group with myself included tried to bridge the gap however with the windy conditions making it very difficult only 2 riders managed to make it over with the rest of us being caught by the bunch.

With the majority of placings taken by the break and with the efforts made to try a bridge the gap I decided to to contest the fast finish and was able to relax and ride to the line in the bunch. Overall it was a really enjoyable race and one I would definatly do again.
