A Windy Day At The Woolly Mamil

Once again I traveled over to the Woolly Mamil Series in Stourport this weekend. On this occasion I traveled with over with another rider I have raced with a few times over the last couple of years which was Freddy Pett.

As we got onto the course for the warm up, I found it was extremely windy down the back straight and knew I would be doing well to get round from the start. Very soon into the race the group was whittled down with splits every lap, and after 30 minutes I too found myself going backwards. Unable to stick with the surges in the wind I was forced to call it a day. Despite this I would still say I had a hard session with my legs certainly feeling it after. Also with the Welland Valley CC Reliability Ride planned the next day, it was wise thing to stop after falling off the pace. Freddy finished the day in 11th place.

I do enjoy racing the wind as it happens, I just need to work at it a bit more!
