Prologue Series At Dishforth

On Saturday before heading over to Manchester with Kathryn we traveled up to Dishforth in Yorkshire where I rode in the Prologue Circuit Series.

It was the first time riding the circuit which is on an airfield and therefore can get very windy. The race started off fast and the bunch became strung out on the first lap making it difficult to find a good position in the wind, especially when we reached the back of the circuit. After a couple of laps I managed to settle into it and felt a lot better as the race went on.

With the race average speed over 26 mph it was always going to be difficult to stay away. The race came down to a bunch sprint with a tailwind finish making it exceptionally fast. I was able to take 5th place on the line which made a good start to the weekend. It was another good performance on a circuit I have not raced on before making it very pleasing.
