PB Peformance Road Race

On Sunday I traveled back to Griffydam to ride the PB Peformance Road Race. Forecast on the day was cloudy with rain later on so I was certainly hoping it would hold off until the end.

On arrival at the Coalville Wheelers Clubhouse I signed in and got myself ready heading to the pre race riders briefing at 9:50. The race then started at 10 and was 7 laps which was an overall distance of about 62 miles. The race had a fast opening with well over 26mph avg for the first half of the race. Then with about half the race to go the aeather took a turn for the worse and a 4 man break got clear and built a lead of around 45 seconds which was held until about 2 laps to go when the race started to splinter apart with small groups making it off the front as the conditions were getting more difficult. On the last lap another 4 riders went clear. Coming to the finish I took 13th place winning the bunch kick.

Difficult condidions during PB Performance Road Race

It was a great race, and aside from the conditions it was a very enjoyable and great race.
