Barnsley Road Club Day At The Races

On Saturday I traveled up to the Forge Valley in Sheffield to ride in the Barnsley Road Club Day At The Races. It was to be held on a closed circuit which was very similar to the Steven Burke Circuit in Lancashire.

After signing on, I managed to get onto the circuit for a warm up and found the wind was going to be a big factor in how the race would go, and the small field would make it a very difficult race. It proved to be true and a gap was created in the first few laps with riders willing to try and work hard to force a split. After missing the break I tried to bridge over however the gap was unfortunately to large for me to get over with the wind making it very difficult. I knew after that the race was always going to be tough.

Riding to the finish I managed to take 9th place on the line. Even though it was a tough afternoon, with it being the first race back after our holiday I was content with the result.
