On Saturday myself and Kathryn traveled over to the Darley Moor race circuit where I rode the in the John Hinksman Memorial Race which is the annual end of year round of Darley Moor.
The race started at 1:30 and was an E/1/2 race which was held over 22 laps of the full Darley Moor Circuit. On arrival I signed on and got myself ready and managed to get some warm up time on the circuit before the start.
After setting off, soon into the race a break was formed which included Wheelbase rider and friend Joel Lewis. Managing to get a gap which was difficult to bridge in the wind. Around halfway into the race an attack then came from Pedal Heaven rider Jacob Tipper which caused a split within the main group. These riders then caught the front group with a eventual total of 10 riders up the road.
Coming up to the finish I was able to take 12th place overall which was 2nd within our group. The Race was won by Catford Banks rider Bertie Newie. Congratulations to Joel was able to finish in 3rd place.
I am pleased with this performance as the wind was strong and hopefully I can build on this and take it forward.
