On Saturday we made the trip to the Velodrome in Newport Wales to ride the Newport GP. The night schedule was 20 lap scratch race, 40 lap points, elimination, unknown distance, and a 25 km scratch race to finish off.
With the season almost over it was to be a bit of fun and good training for me, and with the quality of riders there it was a very tough night. It also certainly did not disappoint either with the pace of the first scratch race through the roof and the points race not even feeling like a points race with the sprints every 10 laps not really felt.
Despite a tough night, it was still a great experience. Hopefully next year I will be able to come back a bit stronger. I will now be looking forward to a bit of a rest.
