On Saturday it was once again a round of the Full Gas Race Series being held at Lee Valley. A great morning with mild temperatures and the sun coming out, it was very nice weather for February. Wearing bibshorts, a base layer and jersey, that was enough to keep me warm enough in what was a mild 10-12 degrees Celsius.
With a strong filed the race was hard fought throughout, with riders constantly trying to get away. After about 30 minutes into the race, three riders went clear. This proved to be defining point in the race as not long after another three riders managed to get clear and build a large enough gap which became to far to bridge. In the final laps a lone rider was allowed to escape and the bunch sprint was for 8th place. I managed to take 10th place on the line, 3rd in the bunch sprint.
Barnabas Purbrook of Nunn-Sigma Sport-London RT won came 1st.
