On Saturday I went over to the Darley Moor Circuit to ride in the afternoon race being held there. Travelling up from Leicestershire to stay in Cheshire for the weekend the day before, Darley Moor is fortunately exactly half in between the two so travelling time was the same.
Staring off at 1:30pm it was the usual 22 lap format. A fast race ensured it would not be long until the finish averaging over 28 mph. During the race a break of around 7 were able to escape. On the last lap however they were caught with one rider managing to clip off the front just before who was able to stay away to take the win!
This meant the bunch sprint was for 2nd. Unable to get into a good position for the sprint in the final corner I did not manage to get into the places getting myself over the finish line just outside the top 15. Dan Bingham of NRG Brother took the win.
